AKA Thailand

Muay Thai, MMA & Fitness Training Facility

Deep in the heart of Phuket, an island globally celebrated for its pristine beaches, vibrant nightlife, and rich history, there lies a place where both the spirit of competition and the essence of martial tradition converge. Welcome to AKA Thailand, Phuket's premier Muay Thai training facility, where the ancient "Art of Eight Limbs" meets modern training methods, and where enthusiasts, from beginners to professionals, embark on a transformative journey of physical and mental fortitude.

AKA Thailand is more than just a gym – it's a sanctuary dedicated to the revered Thai martial art of Muay Thai. Spread across a sprawling landscape, this world-class facility is equipped with state-of-the-art training gear, top-tier trainers, and amenities designed to cater to the holistic needs of its members. Every inch of AKA Thailand echoes the commitment to excellence that has been its guiding principle since its inception.

While many places in the world offer Muay Thai training, AKA Thailand stands out, primarily due to its impeccable blend of traditional and modern training techniques. Here, one can experience the soulful beats of the 'sarama', the rhythmic music that traditionally accompanies Muay Thai bouts, resonating in harmony with the pulsating beats of heart-pumping workout tracks. Trainees can expect to be immersed in authentic Thai techniques taught by trainers who have lived and breathed Muay Thai from a young age, often right in the very rings of Thailand's most famous stadiums.

However, what truly distinguishes AKA Thailand from other training facilities is its dedication to a complete wellness experience. Recognizing that Muay Thai is as much a mental discipline as it is a physical one, the establishment offers a holistic approach to training. There are meditation sessions to calm the mind, yoga classes to improve flexibility, and strength training programs tailored for martial arts enthusiasts. The facility believes in nurturing the body, mind, and spirit in unison, preparing its trainees not just for the ring, but for life.

The on-site amenities further elevate the AKA Thailand experience. With an in-house restaurant serving up nutritious, delectable meals to fuel the rigorous training sessions, to accommodation options that range from the comfortable to the luxurious, every need of the trainee is thoughtfully addressed. Furthermore, the community vibe at AKA Thailand is palpable. From group excursions to the beautiful beaches of Phuket to communal dinners, there’s a strong emphasis on building camaraderie among members. After all, Muay Thai is not just a sport; it's a way of life.

To be a part of AKA Thailand is to be a part of a legacy. It's a commitment to pushing one's limits, honoring ancient traditions, and embracing a lifestyle of discipline, respect, and resilience. Whether you're a professional fighter looking to hone your skills, an enthusiast wanting to learn Muay Thai in its birthplace, or someone simply looking to challenge yourself in new ways, AKA Thailand awaits with open arms. Embrace the sweat, the intensity, the tradition, and the community. Embrace AKA Thailand.

AKA Thailand's Leadership:

Spotlight on Mike Swick
Beyond his celebrated 15-fight UFC career, Mike Swick is a visionary entrepreneur with a history of establishing successful businesses, including a major print factory in California. He turned his sights internationally and founded AKA Thailand, which swiftly became the world's premier destination gym. Swick's entrepreneurial journey has seen him promote renowned MMA events, earn praise from Esquire Magazine, and drive multiple projects, including his podcast, 'Real Quick With Mike Swick'. Despite his numerous ventures, Swick is hands-on at AKA Thailand, exemplifying his sentiment: “Building a Dream is rewarding, but witnessing its growth and its impact on guests is unparalleled.”

Javier Mendez: Mastermind of Champions
Javier Mendez, a martial arts aficionado since 1978, transitioned from Tang Soo Do to kickboxing, seizing multiple ISKA championships by 1995. However, his true legacy lies in molding champions at the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA). Beginning his MMA training journey with UFC's Brian Johnston in 1996, Mendez cultivated talents like Frank Shamrock, B.J. Penn, and Daniel Cormier. His guidance resulted in numerous MMA championships across diverse platforms. By 2015, Mendez distinguished himself by concurrently training three UFC Champions: Velasquez, Cormier, and Rockhold. Today, as AKA's mastermind, he continues shaping the sport's future legends.
